A) Information You Provide

  • Account Data: name, username, email address, phone number (if provided), and account settings.
  • Profile Data: display name, bio, social links, and other optional fields you choose to add.
  • Vehicle Profile Data: vehicle make/model/year/trim, modifications, photos, descriptions/stories, and other details you choose to upload.
  • Communications: messages you send to support and (if enabled) to other users.

B) Information We Collect Automatically

  • Device & Usage Data: IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, pages viewed, and access times.
  • Log & Security Data: authentication events, failed login attempts, rate-limiting signals, and fraud/abuse indicators.

C) Cookies & Similar Technologies

We may use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, improve performance, measure usage, and protect the Service from abuse.

You can control cookies through your browser settings. If we implement a cookie consent tool, you will be able to manage certain categories of cookies there as well.

4. Public by Design Notice

Garage Pass includes public features. If you publish a Vehicle Profile, the information you include may be publicly visible and shareable (including through QR code scans, direct links, and public browsing features).

⚠️ Important: Please do not include sensitive personal information in public Vehicle Profiles (example: home address, personal phone number, or real-time location).

5. How We Use Your Information

We use information to:

  • Create and manage accounts
  • Provide features like Vehicle Profiles and QR codes
  • Display public pages and content you choose to publish
  • Enable community features (likes/follows/messages) if available
  • Provide support and communicate with you
  • Monitor and improve the Service
  • Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms

6. How We Share Information

A) Public Sharing

Content you publish to a public Vehicle Profile may be visible to the public.

B) Service Providers

We may share information with vendors that help us operate the Service (hosting, authentication, storage, analytics, email delivery, customer support tools, etc.). They may process information only to provide services to us and as permitted by contract.

C) Legal & Safety

We may disclose information if we believe it is necessary to comply with law or legal process, enforce our policies, protect rights and safety, or investigate fraud and abuse.

D) Business Transfers

If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

7. Data Retention

We retain information for as long as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements.

  • Account Data: retained while your account is active; limited retention after deletion for legal/security reasons.
  • Public Vehicle Profiles: generally removed when you delete them, unless retention is required for legal/security purposes.
  • Logs & Security Records: retained for a limited period (commonly 30-180 days) unless needed longer for investigations.

8. Your Rights & Choices

Depending on your location, you may have rights to:

  • Request access to personal information we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate information
  • Request deletion of certain information
  • Object to or restrict certain processing

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards to protect information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

If you access the Service from outside the United States, your information may be processed and stored in the United States and other locations where our service providers operate.
